Reconstructing Reality, a Statement by the Artist

The effort to control and organize the world around us is an endless endeavor. The artwork in this exhibition explores the desire to make sense of our lives, surroundings, and experiences through reconstructed versions of reality. Each artwork starts with a title or idea, and the images develop like a conversation, allowing for reflections, connections, and questions to emerge.

Our expectations are inventions, based on real past experiences, beliefs, or ideas on how we think life should be. Memories are consciously edited or selected without intention, shaping our world and perspectives by what we focus on. The fragmentation of space and memory is assembled like a visual puzzle with form, shape, and color dictating the resulting compositions. The act of viewing these works reverses this process as it involves taking apart and decoding the images to reveal the subject.
