GROUP SHOW WITH TIMOTHY BERRY, ANDREW SAFTEL & MARK SERRIANNE
Join us for a group show with Timothy Berry, Andrew Saftel, and Mark Serrianne.
Artists in the Gallery this November:
TIMOTHY BERRY
Timothy Berry has been a practicing artist for over 30 years. His paintings, drawings, and prints have been exhibited extensively in museums and galleries throughout the United States and Europe, including 21 solo and 75 group exhibitions.
He is also a dedicated art educator, having taught and lectured at university level for 33 years. He is presently on the faculty of the San Francisco Art Institute.
ANDREW SAFTEL
Andrew Saftel, born in New Bedford, MA in 1959, earned his BFA at the San Francisco Art Institute in 1981. From there, he continued to hone his skills by displaying his abstract colorful pieces in galleries across the country, largely in the Southeast.
The layering of Saftel’s paintings is geological, a build-up of thoughts, emotions and physical interactions buried in layers of paint. Only the surface is visible, but everything underneath influences what the surface eventually becomes. Saftel uses color to represent time, the spectrum representing it’s change as the day moves on; this cyclic nature creates an atmosphere of hope and reassurance.
MARK SERRIANNE
After a career in advertising (formerly CEO of Cincinnati-based Northlich), Mark’s love for great design, primitive antiques and unusual found objects all converged to form his creation of assemblages.
“Some works convey a message, some an outgrowth of apersonal story, some a flight of fantasy and others are simply compositions that just look and feel right. Each one has been put through the torture test of long stares. My work aims to give very special found objects a new life and context.”
